Colin MacIntyre (aka Mull Historical Society), is one of Britain’s most respected songwriters and performers, and was voted Scotland’s Top Creative Talent. He comes to Aberdeen to talk about his books, The Letters of Ivor Punch—which won Edinburgh International Book Festival’s First Novel Award—and his memoir, The Boy in the Bubble, published as part of the Hometown Tales series.
The Letters of Ivor Punch is set on an island where a headless horseman is believed to haunt the woods, and where the kirk is always full. It’s a story about fathers and sons, secrets and lies, and how, sometimes, you have to leave home to know what home is. Fittingly, then, his follow up essay tells the story of his upbringing on the Isle of Mull, and how it informs all of his artistic output.
If you would like to order soup and a sandwich with your ticket for this lunchtime session you can do that for £13.20.
