An Evening with David Rudolf from Netflix’s The Staircase

Inside The Staircase: Lies, Fake Science, and the Owl Theory

Due to phenomenal demand we are pleased to announce a second night for Inside The Staircase: A Conversation with David Rudolf,

David Rudolf is one of the pre-eminent trial lawyers in the United States, specialising in high-profile and complex criminal and civil rights cases, most recently receiving world-wide attention in the hit Netflix series The Staircase.

The Staircase, directed by Oscar-winner Jean-Xavier de Lestrade, follows the bizarre case of Kathleen Peterson’s death, and her novelist husband Michael’s subsequent murder trial. Originally aired on French television as an eight-episode miniseries in 2004 and earning the prestigious Peabody Award in 2005, the Netflix version of The Staircase, released this summer to further acclaim, includes three new episodes that examine Peterson's life today after the lengthy legal battle that ensued after his wife's death.

David Rudolf promises to bring his unique perspective to the tale which has bewitched viewers, making for an evening of intrigue and insight. He has been listed for more than twenty-five years in the Best Lawyers In America and was one of only three criminal defence lawyers recently selected for the inaugural class of the North Carolina Lawyer Hall of Fame. In recent years, in addition to securing acquittals in two high-profile federal and state criminal trials, he has successfully represented individuals in civil litigation against law enforcement agencies arising from wrongful convictions.
