Overview

Right Up Your Street

The Enchanted Era Emporium is open! The floor is swept, the windows are washed, but there’s definitely something funny going on with those mannequins!

It all starts with an enchanted jukebox. Choose a song and watch the spell take over the shop. Whoosh back and forward in time, exploring the city’s history through dance. Keep the jukebox playing to help the magic stay alive, but watch out for the shopkeeper!

Featuring a soundtrack of popular music from the last one hundred years, Right Up Your Street is an interactive celebration of the people of Aberdeen and their love for dance, past and present. Join Shaper/Caper in the Bon Accord Centre to hear and read community stories about the joy of dancing. You’ll even have the chance to share your own memories with us – from primary school ceilidh practice, to slow dancing at the Beach Ballroom, to having a whirl around the kitchen on a Tuesday night – and everything in between.

Each Right Up Your Street performance is different depending on the songs the audience chooses, so you can come back and visit again and again. See you there soon!
