Musicals meets the circus in the latest shows coming to Aberdeen

Aberdeen Performing Arts today announced a quartet of dazzling new shows to visit His Majesty’s Theatre in 2024. Come From Away, Bonnie and Clyde, I Should Be So Lucky and Cirque: The Greatest Show join the stellar line-up of performances already scheduled in to the venue for next year.

Come From Away visits from 10-14 September 2024. The winner of four Olivier Awards including Best New Musical, is based on the remarkable true story of 7,000 air passengers grounded in Canada during the wake of 9/11. With tensions turning to trust, music took over and gratitude grew into enduring friendships. Many real characters caught at the start of the moment that changed the course of history and whose stories became a true celebration of hope, humanity and unity.

The West End smash-hit Bonnie and Clyde is at His Majesty’s Theatre between 9-13 April 2024. The electrifying story about the infamous duo combines love, adventure and crime in an award-winning musical. Fearless, shameless, and alluring, this award-winning production has garnered a mass following, much like the infamous pair themselves, and now they are set to take Aberdeen by storm.

I Should Be So Lucky is the Stock Aitken Waterman musical and hits Aberdeen between 30 April – 4 May 2024. Featuring all the hit-factory songs from artists including Kylie Minogue, Rick Astley, Jason Donovan, Bananarama and many more, the all-new British musical is about family, friends, love and great times. Described as hilarious and heart-warming, the world premiere tour comes to Aberdeen for one week.

Cirque: The Greatest Show will roll up to His Majesty’s Theatre between 29-30 March 2024 in a jaw-dropping performance where musical theatre meets the circus. Combining everybody’s favourite West-End hits with breath-taking artists and performers will turn the theatre into a kaleidoscope of colour in a spectacular performance for all the family.

An Aberdeen Performing Arts spokesperson said “2024 is shaping up to be an exciting year and we’re delighted to be adding these four new shows to our line-up.  Each one has received such high praise and acclaim and we are sure they will be highlights for many people.  We are really proud to be able to bring performances such as Come From Away to Aberdeen at the home of the West End in the North East at His Majesty’s Theatre.”

All shows go on sale to Aberdeen Performing Arts Friends members on Wednesday 31 May and general sale on Friday 2 June.
