On 8 December 2018, you helped us to bring the Music Hall back to life with artists, musicians and community participants performing in all spaces, all day. We had more than 11,000 visitors through the doors and it really was a day to remember with some truly magical moments.

Stepping In to the Music Hall was the culmination of two and a half years of work on a hugely ambitious transformation project. During closure, we kept the spirit of the Music Hall alive running our Stepping Out programme in schools and communities across the city involving more than 15,000 participants, many of whom were part of our Stepping In day, celebrating all the talent and creativity we have in the North-east.

Upon opening we were delighted to host stunning concerts from the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and Scottish legends, Texas. Both sold out shows showcased the Music Hall as a world class venue.

Thanks to you, our shared vision for a more welcoming, inspirational and fit for purpose Music Hall came to fruition. We couldn’t have done it without your support, encouragement and generosity. Thank you for being part of Music Hall history.
