The Terrace

The Terrace, His Majesty’s Theatre’s brand new bar & café, will open on Saturday, 3 December.

 

The Terrace, overlooking Union Terrace Gardens, is the perfect spot to enjoy pre-show dining, light lunches before a matinee or celebratory meals with an evening show. The Terrace will have a focus on fresh ingredients offering a delicious menu and seasonal specials. Diners might also be treated to themed references celebrating the magic of the shows appearing at His Majesty’s throughout the year.

The new-look eatery will be open Tuesday to Saturday, 11am – 9pm for mid-morning coffee, brunch and light bites into the evening.

FAQs

When will The Terrace open?

The Terrace will open from 5pm on Saturday 3 December. You can pop in for a drink or if you have booked a table, for pre-theatre dining before The Pantomime Adventures of Peter Pan.

The Terrace is open to everyone, whether you are attending a performance at His Majesty’s Theatre or not. The bar is open to customers for drinks, or to those who have pre-booked a table for dining.

 

When will The Terrace be open over Christmas?

Over the Christmas period, from Saturday 3 December until Sunday 8 January, The Terrace will be open from 11am-9pm on performance evenings, for pre-theatre dining and open at the interval for drinks. If there is no evening performance, we will close earlier at 6pm, taking last table bookings for lunch at 2.30pm.

We will be closed on Christmas Day and New Years Day.

 

How can I book a table?

You can book your table directly via the online booking system. Alternatively, you can call our Box Office team on 01224 641122 (10am–6pm, Tuesday–Saturday) or visit any of our Box Offices where our team can assist you with your booking.

Do I need to book in advance or can I just walk in?

You don’t need to book a table in advance and you can drop in for drinks whenever you like. However, we do recommend booking in advance over busy periods and pre-booking will be required for food over the Christmas period.

 

When can I book a table?

Table bookings open to customers from Friday 11 November.

 

How far in advance can I book?

From Friday 11 December, you will be able to book pre-theatre dining for all 2022 and 2023 shows at His Majesty’s Theatre.

 

Where can I have a look at the menu?

Pre-show dining will include light lunches before a matinee or meals with an evening show.  Our new catering team will focus on fresh ingredients offering a tasty menu, with local influences and seasonal specials. You can view the menu here.

Dietary requirements – Please highlight any allergies or dietary requirements at the point of booking, and this will be followed up by our team on arrival at The Terrace.

 

Can I come to The Terrace if I’m not going to the show?

Our bar and café is open throughout the day and is open to everyone whether you are coming to a show or not, but bear in mind that table bookings slots are based on pre-theatre dining.

 

Will there be a Friend’s discount?

There is a 10% discount available with a valid Friend’s card for food and non-alocholic drinks at The Terrace.
