Philip Miller

Philip Miller lives in Edinburgh. An award-winning journalist for twenty years, he is now a civil servant. His previous novels include The Blue Horse, All the Galaxies and The Goldenacre, and his poetry has been published online and in print.

E.S. Thomson

E.S. Thomson’s work has been longlisted for the CWA Endeavour Historical Dagger, and shortlisted for the Saltire Prize, the Scottish Arts Council First Book Award and the William McIlvanney Crime Book of the Year Award. She has a PhD in the social history of medicine, and tries to fit as much medical history into her books as possible. She works as a university lecturer by day, and writes by night. Elaine lives in Edinburgh with her two sons.

Ajay Close

Ajay Close grew up up in Yorkshire and, after her school years at a Sheffield comprehensive, studied at Cambridge. She worked at Granta before becoming a journalist and then a novelist. She is the author of six literary novels, of which her first, Official and Doubtful, was longlisted for the Orange Prize. Her  novels are pacy, often political, page-turning, dealing with family and relationships under pressure, and can be read as thrillers.

Bryan Burnett

Bryan Burnett is the host of BBC Radio Scotland’s popular evening music programme, Get It On

Aberdeen born Bryan began his career as a teenage magazine journalist before moving into radio and TV presenting.

Bryan has presented a wide range of shows over the years from arts and entertainment to quiz shows. He was also the frontman of the long running travel show, Scottish Passport.
