Our Junior group are delighted to be staging this family friendly version of “Grease”. Based on the most successful musical film of all time, our juniors are discovering the excitement of this rollicking show that salutes the rock’n’roll era. Gum chewing, wise-cracking girls, hotrod-loving boys, leather jackets, bobby sox and pedal pushers capture the essence of this iconic musical.
Grease: School Edition is set in 1959 and follows how Sandy Dumbroski and Danny Zuko meet and have a summer romance, neither expecting to see each other again. Back at Rydell High School, Danny (who is the coolest guy in the school) is shocked when he meets Sandy who has now transferred to Rydell High. Sandy hangs out with the Pink Ladies, a group of pink-wearing girls led by Rizzo. Danny is the leader of the T-Birds, a group of leather jacket-wearing greasers but finds it hard to maintain his tough-guy reputation as he still cares for Sandy. Can Danny maintain his cool and make reserved Sandy his girl? Bursting with so many favourite hits, this is definitely one that you want to see.
