The second of our multi-bill events brings the Lemon Tree to life with an eclectic line-up of theatre, music, comedy and dance. Fun, energetic and exciting, expect a feel-good afternoon from five of the region’s finest youth groups.

APA Junior Youth Theatre
Aberdeen Performing Arts Junior Youth Theatre presents At First I Was Afraid… (I Was Petrified!) by Douglas Maxwell as part of Positive Stories for Negative Times: Season 2 by Wonder Fools in association with Traverse Theatre.
A feel-good comedy drama about a girl who keeps a diary of all her anxieties; but as she moves from Primary School to Secondary, from normal life to Lockdown, all of her worries appear to come true.
APA Intermediate Youth Theatre
Aberdeen Performing Arts Intermediate Youth Theatre presents Thanks For Nothing by The PappyShow with Lewes Hetherington as part of Positive Stories for Negative Times: Season 2 by Wonder Fools in association with Traverse Theatre.

‘Thanks for Nothing’ is a fun piece of devised theatre, focussing on finding fun and being thankful, even when the world around you is driving you mad!
Castlegate Theatre Company
Castlegate Theatre Company (CTC) aged 8-17 are sharing an extract from their latest show Aberdeen Arts Centre’s Got The X Idol Get Me Out of Here Strictly Not on Ice Big Bake Off Throw Down 2022 – a hilarious new mockumentary that featured songs from various musicals including Waitress, Six and Mamma Mia. Everyone has dreams of being a star including those in the crew, make-up and cleaners – the mockumentary heard a little of everyone’s story and you will see a snippet of the show and the finale.
City Moves Dance Fusion
Together They Dance celebrates the joy we feel and friendships we make when we dance together. Fusion is a pre-professional performance company for aspiring talented young dancers, performing locally and nationally. Fusion perform on stages and in unusual spaces in Aberdeen and beyond, they regularly work with guest choreographers. Aberdeen Youth Music Theatre
Aberdeen Youth Music Theatre celebrates 30 years of high quality youth theatre. During this time, their productions have included “Les Miserables”, “Miss Saigon”, “Phantom of the Opera” and “Beauty and the Beast”. After a 2 year COVID delay, AYMT were delighted to bring “9 to 5” and the “Wizard of Oz” to the stage. They present a medley of songs from both shows as part of Fuse #2.

About Light the Blue
Light The Blue is an exciting festival happening in June for young people, by young people. Taking place over eight days across Aberdeen city centre, the festival will bring those aged 5-25 together for a series of gigs, theatre, film, workshops and much more for a great chance to learn and have fun.
