Rise Up: Rise Under - Open Mic with Mae Diansangu

Join us for an exciting open mic event hosted by Mae Diansangu, exclusively for young performers aged 12-17! This is an opportunity for musicians, singers, poets, and other performers to showcase their talents in front of a supportive audience.

Whether you’re a seasoned performer or just starting out, this open mic is the perfect platform to express yourself creatively and connect with other like-minded young people. We welcome all genres of music and styles of performance.

Admission is free for all attendees. Come prepared with your best material! We encourage all performers to bring their friends and family along to cheer them on.

For ages 12-17.

The first Rise Under which is part of Rise Up Festival and aimed at 12-17 year olds will see a series of workshops running exploring filmmaking, music and screenprinting. There will also be an Open Mic to help showcase new talent in the field of music, spoken word, poetry and creative expression.

Rise Up! Festival is a celebration of some of the many diverse voices and visions that shape Aberdeen and Scotland’s Black and PoC creative communities. Join us at the Music Hall and Lemon Tree for three days of art, music, and dialogue that challenge, inspire, and unite. Curated by We Are Here Scotland in partnership with Aberdeen Performing Arts.
